Trip Overview

On this 8 days road trip to 4 of Uganda’s diverse national parks, we take you for a rewarding a wildlife adventure, good sleep, relaxation and discovery. You will visit; Murchison Falls national park in the north western part of Uganda for Africa’s Big 5 animals; Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for rhino trekking; chimpanzees in Kibale forest national park; Semliki national park for birds and hot springs; and Queen Elizabeth National Park; home to the rare tree climbing lions. Activities awaiting you include; Boat cruise, chimpanzee trekking, game drives, and nature walk. The trip starts and ends at Entebbe international airport.

Detailed Trip

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National park

After breakfast at the hotel, you will checkout of the lodge to the largest national park in the country-Murchison falls national park. The Journey time is 6-7 hours, with a one-hour stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino trekking.

Lunch will be served enroute, as you get to your lodge in the evening hours for check-in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise

Start your day with a mouthwatering breakfast meal at the lodge. Afterword, a game drive follows in the northern sector of the park with different animals and birds such as the Egyptian geese, buffaloes, lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, crested cranes, waterbuck, Oribis, hartebeests, and more.

Follow game drive with a lunch break, and thereafter a 2-3 hours’ boat cruise in the afternoon hours to the bottom of the falls where you get to watch the magnificent site of the world’s most powerful waterfalls. Other attractions to lookout for include; the hippos, and Nile crocodiles. End the day with dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Wakeup to a mouthwatering breakfast meal at the lodge and then hit the road on a 6–7-hour drive to Kibale forest national park, with the views of the eye-catching landscape, the local homesteads, and more. Get a warm welcome of fort portal where you will drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight, there will be an enroute stopover for Lunch.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk

After breakfast, head out to the park headquarters for pre-trekking briefing which takes approximately 30 minutes. Afterwards, the ranger guide will accompany you on a 1-4 hours’ trekking exercise, where as you lookout for the chimps, you get to encounter among others; the birds, plants and other primates like the white and black colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, grey-checked monkeys, and more.

After finding the chimpanzees, you will have an hour of watching and taking photos of the Apes. Afterwards, return to the lodge for lunch and refreshments before spending the evening at Bigodi swamp with other primates such as the baboons. End the day at the lodge with dinner and sweet slumber.

Day 5: Nature walks in Semliki national park

Today, you will transfer to semiliki national park for a rewarding nature walk experience deep in one of the oldest forests in Uganda. Hike through the forest route for around 30 minutes to reach the hot springs. The most breathtaking feature in the park and in western Uganda is the scorching sight of the hot steam and bubbles of the hot water from a ground of about 100 degrees Celsius. Guests are invited to roam around with boiled eggs so they can sample them.

According to reports, the Sempaya hot springs are the biggest in Uganda. In the forest, you get to uncover amazing bird life, notably; the woodland areas home. Cranes, Nkulengu rail, shoe bill and marabou storks, dwarf honey guides, orange weaver, serpent eagle and more. Semiliki is home to 40% of the birdsepecies in Uganda. End this day with dinner and a sweet slumber at the lodge.

Day 6: Crater lake tours and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

Kick start your day with a Ugandan coffee and thereafter explore the different crater lakes around the tourism city of fort portal. This will take about 2 hours, followed by Lunch, and a transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Arrive at your lodge in the evening for check-in, dinner and a sweet slumber.

Day 7: Game drive and Boat cruise

After breakfast, you will have a 3-4-hour game drive experience, with your ranger guide explaining the life and character of what your eyes come across. Queen Elizabeth national park is one of the most visited national parks in Uganda and the second largest.

Some of the day’s sightings can be; the lions, Buffaloes, warthogs, Buffaloes, waterbuck, and more. Follow game drive with a lunch break, and thereafter a boat cruise at Kazinga channel for 2-3 hours where you get to uncover among others the hippos and crocodiles, aquatic birds, elephants at the lake shores and more. After the activities, end this day with dinner and a sweet slumber.

Day 8: Departure

Wakeup to a mouthwatering breakfast meal the lodge and thereafter checkout for a 6-7 hours’ scenic drive to Entebbe international airport for a flight. There will be an enroute stopover for lunch and site seeing at the equator. The equator is an imaginary line that divides the earth between the northern and southern hemispheres.

There will be experts demonstrating the Coriolis effect.
