The 3 Days gorilla trekking tour in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park takes you on a guided walk through the lush Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to see mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi will be enjoyed in the 4 sectors/regions including Buhoma, Rushaga, Nkuringo, and Ruhija. Your gorilla trekking tour also includes the Batwa cultural experience.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and provides refuge to over 24 habituated gorilla groups. In addition to gorillas, Bwindi also provides refuge to l’hoest monkeys, chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, plus over 350 bird species.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to enjoy a gorilla tour

Wake up early to enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel in Entebbe or Kampala. After breakfast, meet the driver guide who will brief you about your enriching 3 days gorilla trekking tour in Bwindi. Following briefing will be a departure for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Southwestern Uganda.

Today’s road trip will run for about 8-9 hours and en route, you will have a stopover at the Equator crossing. Have quality time at the Equator as you take pictures, stretch around, or visit the nearby craft shop to purchase some products. Still at the Equator, you have an option of performing a water experiment to determine the 2 hemispheres –the Northern & Southern hemispheres.

From the Kayabwe Equator experience, proceed to Igongo Cultural Centre for a delicious lunch. After lunch, continue to Bwindi Forest on a stunning drive in the hillside of Southwestern Uganda. Arrive early and get a warm welcome from your lodge staff, check in then settle for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Experience the best of the Gorilla trekking tour in Bwindi & Batwa cultural visit.

Today marks the start of your gorilla trekking expedition in Bwindi Forest. First, expect to get briefed about gorilla trekking rules and this will be done at the park offices. The park official will also use this session to allocate habituated gorilla groups and park ranger guides to visitors.

You will depart from the park offices at around 8:00 am for an actual search for gorillas. This is expected to take between 2 and 6 hours inclusive of an hour for an up close and personal encounter with a family of gorillas in Bwindi Forest. Ensure that you have adequate memory to accommodate your pictures during the photography session.

After the magical encounter with Bwindi gorillas, expect to start walking back. Arrive at the park offices to be offered your gorilla trekking certificate and later, continue to the lodge for relaxation. To end your day perfectly, you will have a spice of Batwa community visit led by an experienced local guide.

At the Batwa community, you will have a chance to learn more about the Batwa pygmies, their unique cultures and traditions. The Batwa will also perform great cultural dances –inspirational musical performances that tell their unique story as forest dwellers. After the Batwa visit, you will be led back by the local guide and have dinner plus overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Departure

Enjoy a heavy breakfast at leisure in your respective gorilla tour lodges. After, ensure that you have checked out and met your experienced guide ready to set off to Kampala/Entebbe. En route, expect to make a stopover at Mbarara/Igongo Cultural Village for lunch.

Another photography moment will be had at the Equator crossing and you will continue to Kampala/Entebbe thus marking the end of 3 days gorilla trekking tour in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
