Masindi Golf Course was started in the year 1914 by the Polish Community who had come to Masindi to settle.

Masindi Golf Course is located in the Middle of town and that gives it huge advantage for accessibility.

The Golf Course has been also mapped out by the Municipality as a green belt where residents can rest during day if the course is not in use.

The course was very active until in the late 70’s due to political instability then the number of people playing reduced and the course was abandoned.

Before the instability the Masindi Golf Course had 18 holes and covered a very big part of the Masindi town.

As years past with pressure of Urban development the Golf Course was taken over by Masindi land Board which ended by allocating part of it to be developed.

In 2017 the Masindi land Board allocated part of the Golf land to Judiciary to construct Masindi High Court. More part of the Golf Course land was also allocated to some individuals and institutions for development.

In a bid to secure the remaining piece of land few golfers led by Mr Pataleo Kasangaki formed Golf management committee to revive the game and to protect the remaining part of the Course.

The Golf management and the Trustees applied for a free Hold land title which was granted by Masindi Land Board and given the title of the remaining 34 acres.

The course has 9 holes where you can play both front and back to make a full game.

Management has been able to get the course rated by HOWDIDIDO a world golf body that rates all courses in the world.

Currently the Golf Course sits on a Free Hold title.

Masindi Golf and Sports club also has a Club House one of the best in the Country and serves both the golf players and guests.
