ABOUT US
Who We Are
Hope Alive Dream Centre (HADC) is a Non-Government Organization that highly believes in transforming lives; especially through empowerment, compassion, and opportunities. The NGO was established in the year 2020, as a Community Based Organization (CBO). In 2025, it officially registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee.
The organization has now grown from a humble vision into a promise of hope for the community of Namawojjolo, situated along Jinja Road, Uganda. Hope Alive Dream Center is driven by purpose and largely sustained by the unwavering commitment of uplifting the most vulnerable, needy among us.
The Beginnings of Hope Alive Dream Center
The story of Hope Alive Dream Centre begins with a single act of faith, and surprisingly, a donated guitar. The founder of the vibrant NGO is a passionate individual, and carries pride with over 12 years of experience at YOFAFO, a local NGO which felt a calling to create something new.
He resigned his role and 2020 sought divine guidance at a prayer mountain. As he was on the mountain, a small but symbolic gift in form of a guitar was donated to him. Notwithstanding the size, “the small” gift paved way to the start of a remarkable journey. It all started with this petty instrument that later he began to gather children from villages while using music and prayer to inspire hope, positivity and building a community.
The first initiative was launched in 2021 and was accompanied by a weekly feeding program for children in Namawojjolo. What started like a small habit later saw children gather on every Saturday for fostering spiritual growth, nourishment, discipleship and a sense of belonging. One can say that what started as a modest effort, to kick away hunger quickly turned into something bigger.
Mission & Values of Hope Alive Dream Center
Vision for Greater Impact
Mission
At Hope Alive Dream Centre, much of the mission is to restore hope, transform lives and empower communities. Guided by values of integrity, faith and compassion. Every program undertook is designed to address immediate needs while aiming for long term change. Whether it’s providing a meal, classroom, or skill, the Organization aims at creating opportunities that ripple through families and communities for generations.
Their tremendous work is deeply associated with the belief that everyone deserves a chance to thrive and be better. Striving to create a space where children can dream with no limits and where young mothers can reclaim their futures. Where the community can come together to support one another.
From Feeding, to Education
The feeding program was just a kick off, as later on, the NGO connected with the children and their families. After they recognized the need for proper education in the area. This initiative gave birth to the establishment of Dream Kindergarten Junior School. The school that started as a kindergarten, has since evolved into a well operating primary school. To date, the school has since provided a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and may be dream of a brighter future.
The NGO is committed to equipping the next generations to come with the knowledge and skills they need to break the cycle of poverty.
HADC’s work doesn’t stop at feeding or educating children but goes out of their way in response to the challenges that affect young mothers in our communities. Recently, the organization launched a skilling program meant for teenage mothers. Through this progressive strategy, this NGO teaches and trains practical skills like sewing while they provide each participant with a sewing machine upon completion.
The program empowers young women especially teenage mothers to gain financial independence. It also helps these young mothers to rebuild their confidence while creating sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their families. Watching these mothers transform their lives is one of the most rewarding aspects of their work.
Volunteering for the better
Volunteers are the perfect rhythm of Hope Alive Dream Center. Both local and international well-wishers’ skills and passion can make a difference. From teaching in HADC’s Dream junior and Kindergarten to assisting in medical camps or sometimes mentoring youth.
