Talent Development at Hope Alive Dream Center
The talent development program at HADC aims at nurturing or promoting talents of the vulnerable children. This enhances their self-esteem thus unlocking their potential for greatness. This initiative harnesses music, dance and vocational skills. This has opened up opportunities for the talented children and paved pathways to economic independence that aligns with HADC’s impressive vision. The talent development program at HADC is entirely inspired by Hope Alive’s humble beginnings of a donated guitar in 2008.
The program has demonstrated tremendous efforts offering workshops in music, tailoring, dance and leather work right at the Dream Centre. Currently, these efforts have impacted lives of over 50 teens, providing a safe space to explore their abilities. Monthly talent showcases are usually organized and several other events to allow participants to perform original songs, choreographed dances and sell handmade crafts. These and more happen, all while fostering confidence and community recognition.
Some of the teens under HADC are provided platforms to create and perform at small music events, and other local events. This has not only boosted their self-esteem but helped them generate income. This has subsequently reinforced the program’s entrepreneurial common goal. Talent development undoubtedly empowers teens to envision sustainable long-lasting livelihoods. Teenage mothers learn leather work and tailoring thus obtaining practical skills to start micro-businesses. This helps reduce dependency.
