Skilling The Teenager Mothers & Other Vulnerable Women
Hope Alive Dream Centre remains a non-profitable and transformative non-governmental organization, strategically situated in Namawojjolo. The Organization has not only fed and supported vulnerable children but also empowered teenage mothers and other vulnerable women. One of its celebrated initiatives is the practical skilling that has empowered over 16 teenage mothers and other vulnerable women.
Now, the mothers have graduated with practical reliable skills hence become financially independent. The organization continues to target teenage mothers and vulnerable women within the community of Namawojjolo. They will keep addressing the systemic challenges that they face in enhancing their livelihoods. There are plenty of these challenges, but a few of them include stigma and limited access to education.
The program also teaches practical skills like tailoring to young mothers, and each successful graduate receives a sewing machine upon completion of training. As of today, about 16 women have so far graduated, fully equipped to start their own businesses or secure reliable employment opportunities. If this is done right, it would break the lasting cycle of poverty for themselves and their families.
The program’s impact is exceptional as appreciated by Esther, a 19-year-old graduate who shared in a 2025 HADC report how her sewing skills enabled her to open a small tailoring shop. She proved that now she can earn some income to cater for her child and family.
